Next meeting:    Saturday, June 30, 2007           Main Branch Library, Houma, LA    1:00 p.m.

We had another great meeting last month, or that is what I hear.  I, myself, was unable to attend due to a death in the family and I am sorry I missed it. Speaking of missing Catherine PROKOP, one of the guests from the Canary Islanders Heritage Society of Louisiana, has some of her personal papers on Juan and Juana MORALES ALEMAN missing. Someone may have accidentally picked up her papers that were along side of some papers that were being distributed. If anyone has these papers please mail to: TGS c/o Essie CAVALIER P.O. Box 20295, Houma, LA 70360-0295.
Coming in the near future will be Phil CHAUVIN’s Vital Records Volume 12. Date is not yet set. Phil is putting the final touches in place as we read.
Audrey WESTERMAN our wonderful editor is still in need of material for the quarterly. She is also looking for information on the Thibodaux Massacre, which involved labor disputes, this is not for the quarterly though.
Ed HICKS has graciously accepted Tim HEBERT’s offer to help keep our website up to date. This will take a great deal of Ed’s time, so he has decided to retired as newsletter editor to pursue his interest as editor of the website. So check out the website for new and fresh material.
