NEXT MEETING: February 25, 2012, 1:00 p.m., Main Branch 151 Library Dr. Houma, LA 70360

If you missed the January meeting, you lost out on a spectacular show by Marty Guidry. He had a slide presentation named "An Exile of Hopes and Heartbreaking Tragedies through the Eyes of Pierre Guédry" and he also dressed for the part. I believe his ancestors would have been very proud of him. When someone comes to speak to you and can bring you back in history (late 1700's to early 1800's) to the time of their ancestors and make you feel like part of the time, it makes you want to bring your own family history to life. I loved it.

We will not have a speaker at our February meeting due to the election.

THANK YOU
Thanks to our hospitality chair persons, Sondras SAUCIER and Sarah VOISIN and to ALL who provide all the great refreshments. Speaking of thanks, we received a nice little note from one of our members who live in Springfield, MO. Our Summer issue had an oral history on an uncle, by marriage, from the past and very appreciative of an article by Lawrence BERGERON. She thanks you us for all the great work. I am also grateful to everyone who has submitted articles, without your articles we would not have a quarterly. Please continue sending your articles to me as an attachment in your email, mail or you can give it to me at the meeting. See my information on top of this newsletter.
